About the Venue

Hi Folks,

I have received several questions so here is a bunch of info about the venue. Of course you will receive more info when you check in. You may wish to share this info, particularly with those not staying on campus.

* The pool and gym facilities will be open on Friday/Saturday, but closed Sunday/Monday. Cost for these is about $10 per person per day.

* Parking & Accommodations (there’s a link to a map below and I attached a pdf). We will provide hard copies to you upon registration. Everyone will be staying in Mary Speechly Hall. Mary Speechly Hall is located at the corner of Freedman and MacLean on the south-centre side of Fort Garry campus. We are trying to keep teams together on the same floor, but this depends on number of attendees. For those driving in, you’ll want to park in “D” lot for accommodations.  

EVENING, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS 
After 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays, free parking is available in most staff, student, meter and Pay & Display lots. 
This does not include 24-hour reserved areas, restricted areas, “N” Lot (evening and weekends) and the University Parkade.

The welcome BBQ will be held in University Centre. Jeans = good.

I believe the forms neglect to ask about dietary restrictions. Please let me know, we’ll try to accommodate.

Breakfast will be in Pembina Hall, which is right next to Mary Speechly Hall.

The tournament is taking place in University College (not to be confused with University Centre).

University College is a brisk 8 minute walk from Mary Speechly Hall. You can do it in less, if you’re late.

University College is located on the North East corner of campus.

Parking near University College: Park in “B” Lot. Don’t park near the meters. They ‘run’ 24/7.

Regarding Parking: be sure you read the signs. Use common sense. If in doubt, don’t park there.
